If your Stripe account has been pended due to a business verification issue, you can resolve it by providing one of these two IRS documents: your SS-4 confirmation notice or a 147C letter.
How do I get my SS-4 confirmation notice?
Form SS-4 is the application you originally filed with the IRS to get your Employer Identification Number (EIN). You can get a copy three ways:
Download it from the IRS website.
Request it in person at your local IRS office.
Request it by mail.
How do I get a 147C letter?
A 147C letter is a document the IRS can reissue confirming your EIN if you've lost your original SS-4 notice.
To request one, call the IRS Business and Specialty Tax line at 1-800-829-4933. They're open Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM taxpayer local time (Alaska and Hawaii follow Pacific Time). Be ready to answer some security questions to verify your identity.
Where do I submit my document once I have it?
Upload it through your Stripe Dashboard to complete your business verification.
